  I was informed by the IRS that I was about to be audited for the year 2006. I paid to have the "peace of mind audit protection" with my taxes for the 06 year. Mind you, that is really expensive. This was supposed to be easy. If you are getting an audit, call your H & R Block rep, and they will represent you. WRONG!!!! The person assigned to handle my case was a lady by the name of Nancy. She has to be one of the most unprofessional people I have ever done business with. To make a long story short. I handed her all of my documents, and expected her to do her job. This process started 2 months ago. I follow up leaving voicemail because nobody will pick up a phone over there. I have left on average 2 messages per week for the last 2 months. Here we are today. The day of my audit. I have no idea if they sent my stuff in or not. I still have not received a call back, and have had to put this in the hands of the District Manager. I am not sure if every H&R Block in Florida is this bad. Please be aware. If you can drive a couple of miles to avoid Nancy, I would strongly suggest it. Here is a fun little update: Turns out that my incapable tax rep Nancy totally dropped the ball and didn't get anything to the IRS until 6 days later. This is very unfortunate. I have always had great experiences with H&R Block. I have even come to find out today, that they never even submitted a peace of mind claim on my behalf. According to the IRS, I am on the hook for $3600. The IRS agent said she could possible review everything if she has time. Please stay away from this place.
